Review: [Borghese] Fango Active Mud for Face And Body

Active Mud

Today let me introduce you an amazing product from an amazing skincare brand I’ve just discovered: the Fango Active Mud Mask for Face And Body from Borghese, a brand from Italy.

About The Brand

Borghese

Borghese was founded in 1956 by Princess Marcella Borghese of Italy with the help of Charles Revson, the founder of Revlon. The brand does not conduct animal testing on the products, nor employ others to test on its behalf, except where required by local regulation. The products include skincare, body-care, and makeup. You can buy Borghese products from their website or trusted retailers (such as Macy’s, Lord and Taylor, Dermstore.com, Skinstore.com).

About Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face And Body

Borghese Fango

This Fango Active Mud for Face And Body mask is one of the 7 types of mud masks in Borghese Fango collection (as shown above). It is described as a mask that was “derived from traditional Tuscan treatments with deep-down purifying power that purges and minimizes pores. It exfoliates and helps surface cell turnover, imparting clarity. It hydrates and firms reducing fine lines and providing smooth, toned texture. Infused with Sweet Almond and Avocado Oils, this mud detoxifies and does away with dull skin, leaving skin radiant and refreshed. Hydrates. Firms. Purifies. Minimizes and purges pores. Diminishes fine lines.” The mask comes in 2 sizes: $35 – $50 for a 7.5-oz jar and $72.5 – $100 for a 17.5-oz jar.

My Review

I absolutely love it, enough to consider switching to the masks from this brand completely!

Pros:

  • This mask feels very luxurious (imagining you go to a spa and are given some fancy skincare products). The consistency is buttery thick and smooth, not runny or grainy like the ones I’ve been used to. Be careful not to overuse; a little goes a long way and you only need a thin layer.
  • My skin is so dry lately due to the past freezing cold weather but it feels very smooth and comfortable after using the mask.
  • Great value! I got the 7.5-oz jar and the jar is very big for the price so it will last me quite a long time. Note the retail stores like the ones I mentioned above have products on sale almost all the time (15%-30% off) so you’re likely to get this luxury product for a very affordable price.
  • The jar is an air-tight jar so I don’t have to worry about the product drying out. Although this type of jar is quite heavy and made out of glass so it might be inconvenient to bring on travel, you can always put some product in a smaller travel jar.

Cons:

  • None

Rating kisses (out of 5):     💋.💋.💋.💋.💋

One note I need to make is the mask does give a slight burning sensation but it does not feel uncomfortable to me. In contrast, it just feels like the mask is actually working!
